  1. 1.  Arne Sollok MortensenArne Sollok Mortensen was born on 30 Jul 1917 in Taaning, Taaning sogn, Voer herred, Skanderborg Amt, Danmark; was christened on 23 Sep 1917 in Taaning Kirke; died on 4 Mar 1991 in Århus komunehostital; was buried on 09 Mar 1991 in Hasle kirke afd. 05 nr. 289-90.

    Notes:

    Arne var i tømmer lærer ved sin far. Efter lærertiden tog han ingeniør eksamen
    dengang som Danmarks yngste ingeniør (22 år).
    Han blev ansat ved Hedeselskabet. Han boede en tid i Slagelse.
    Arne var en dygtig skytte og vandt mange præmier. Et år blev han Nordisk Mester i riffelskydning.
    Arne og Herdis blev gift i Ovsted kirke og kørte i en gammel bil til Hasle ved
    Århus. Det foregik under 2. verdenskrig og var ikke uden vanskeligheder idet det pga mørklægning ikke var tilladt at køre med lys på bilen. I
    Halse fik de lejlighed over købmand Andersen i præstehaven. Arne havde job ved
    Hasle kommune som kommuneingeniør aspirant, og har bl.a. planlagt Ringvejen
    som blev bygget ca. 1990, han har også lavet tegninger til mange af de huse
    der er bygget i Hasle i den tid. Han var ved civilforsvaret under krigen.
    1948 rejste han med familien til Kjellerup for at begynde sit nye job som
    kommuneingeniør ved Kjellerup kommune. 1959 fik han job ved Luxol a/s som
    salgsingeniør, Luxol blev senere overtaget af Superfoss a/s. Arne blev i
    virksomheden til han gik på pension i ca 1980.
    Han fik en hjerneblødning i 1991 medens han sad i sin lænestol og så TV avisen.
    Han døde på Århus kommunehospital samme aften uden at komme til bevidsthed.

    Arne Sollok Mortensen var født i Tåning i Midtjylland. Han blev uddannet ved
    Horsens Teknikum og var efter eksamen Danmarks hidtil yngste ingeniør. Efter
    ansættelse ved Hedeselvskabet i Slagelse og en entreprenør i Århus kom Arne
    Sollok Mortensen i 1942 til Hasle Kommune. I 1948 blev kan kommuneingeniør i
    Kjellerup, hvor han arbejdede indtil 1960, da han blev salgsingeniør hos
    Luxol/Superfos. Arne Sollok Mortensen blev pensioneret i 1980.

    Navnet Sollok
    Ifølge familiehistorien blev Arne døbt Sollok, idet, der på tidspunktet for hans dåb, sank et græsk skib i Kattegat der bar navnet Sollok. Det syntes familien, og vist især hans gudmor Karen Mortensen, var sådan et flot navn og af den grund blev Arne altså døbt Arne Sollok Mortensen. Ingen andre søskende fik dette navnet. Han blev ofte kaldt Sollok af sine søskende. Dog af og til også OverArne, idet han jo var den ældste.

    Arne married Herdis Johanne Jensen on 13 Oct 1942 in Ousted Kirke, Ousted Sogn, Voer Herred, Skanderborg Amt, Danmark. Herdis (daughter of Peter Villiam Jensen and Euphemia Kristensen) was born on 13 Aug 1921 in Riis; died on 26 Feb 2004 in Plejehjemmet Caritas Århus; was buried on 04 Mar 2004 in Halse kirke.
